Back in time: Ice skating on the Uitgeestermeer on February 11, 2021 – Can it happen again this year?

The winter of 2021 brought a beautiful natural phenomenon: the Uitgeestermeer turned into a vast expanse of ice, perfect for a beautiful skating tour. On February 11, 2021, we were able to put on our skates en masse and enjoy a magical winter day on the frozen lake. The bright blue sky, the freezing cold and the cracking ice under our feet made it an experience never to be forgotten.

With the recent frost, we naturally wonder: could it happen again this year? Temperatures are dropping, and who knows, we might soon have a perfect ice surface on the Uitgeestermeer again. Nature gives no guarantees, but the cold of the past few days at least provides hope!
